LIBRARY BUILDING - COMPETITIVE BIDS. Letter, January 9, 1975, to Mr. Chester A. Fleming, Attorney at Law, Eudora, Kansas.
As chairman of the Eudora Public Library Board of Eudora Township, Eudora, Kansas, you inquire whether competitive bids are necessary under general bid law for construction by the board of a public library building, to be constructed with the proceeds of a bond issue. We find no statutory provisions which require that bids be received for the lettering of construction contracts by township library boards, and accordingly, conclude that competitive bids are not necessary for the project which the board proposes.
